A 45-minute program designed to introduce second through fourth grade students to 3D technology utilizing a 3D pen.
Students will learn why 3D printing technology is used on the International Space Station, what kinds of careers are available in additive manufacturing (which includes 3D printing), and then will use 3D pens to create geometric shapes.
The filament used in the 3D pens has a low melting point, so the pen and the melted filament are safe to touch.
Standards Alignment:
3.G.4 Identify three-dimensional shape based on a given two-dimensional net and explain the relationship between the shape and the net.
